Taking an Uber or Lyft to Red Rocks: the part the apps don't tell you
Rideshare is genuinely fine on the way in. You set Red Rocks Amphitheatre as your destination, your driver drops you near the entrance off West Alameda Parkway, and a standard Uber or Lyft from Denver to Red Rocks runs roughly $35–$50 each way in normal conditions (more like $55–$80 from Denver International Airport, which is about 40 miles out). 2. You can't get picked up where you were dropped off. After the show, Uber, Lyft, and taxis can only collect passengers from the Jurassic Lot — officially Lower South Lot 2, just inside Entrance 2 off Highway 93. From your seat, that's about a one-mile walk downhill along the Will Call Trail to reach your ride. Sketchy at best, down right dangerous at worst.
3. In 2026, Red Rocks eliminated "Limo Lane." This season, rideshare and any vehicle not staged inside the park before the 8:30 PM cutoff — including party buses and most livery — gets funneled to that same Jurassic Lot. Translation: the lot is more crowded than ever, and a lot of "private" options end up dumping you in the same place as the Uber line.
So the honest math on rideshare: it's the cheapest sticker price, and if you're a solo rider or a pair who don't mind the walk and the wait, it works. For a group, or for anyone who'd rather not finish a great night with a mile hike and a surge-priced fare, the value gets a lot less obvious.
A rideshare pro tip we actually recommend
If you're set on Uber or Lyft, DO NOT request your ride in advance or through Uber/Lyft reserve, you’ll never make it down in time and the driver will almost certainly just take your no show fee and accept another ride on demand. Best advice we have here is to just skip the Jurassic Lot line entirely: it's a similar distance to walk into the town of Morrison and grab a ride from there. Post up at the Morrison Holiday Bar, have a beer while the chaos clears, and request your Uber from town where the surge is lower and the pickup is simpler. Same walk, better wait.
Option 2: Drive yourself and park
Parking at Red Rocks is free and first-come, first-served — six lots open about two hours before doors. If you've got a designated sober driver and you arrive early, this is a legitimately good option. Pro tip: If you get there early enough you can park right before the tunnel. These spots are the crem de la crem for self drivers to the show. Be warned that people generally leave their cars there super early, think like 1:00, and find a ride back home and THEN back to the amphitheater for the show. It’s a commitment, but if you’re not planning on drinking this might be a good option for you if you have the patience to set it all up.
The two catches:
The exit is slow. Thousands of cars funnel out at once. Depending on your lot, you can sit for a while before you're moving.
The DUI risk is real. Red Rocks is a place where a lot of people drink or consume. If that's your night, driving yourself isn't really on the table. A sober ride isn't just more comfortable — it keeps your license and everyone else on Highway 93 safer.

They solve the parking and the sober-driver problem, and a party bus can be a genuinely fun pre-game. But know what you're signing up for:
You're on the bus's schedule, not yours. Pickups are often set ~40 minutes before doors, and the return leaves when the bus leaves — frequently after the lots thin out, which can make it one of the slowest ways to actually get home.
You're sharing with strangers on the public shuttles, and pickup is from a fixed point around town, not your door.
A big bus can't reach the stairs. Large shuttles and party buses stage in the lower lots — and in 2026, anything not staged inside by 8:30 PM is routed to the Jurassic Lot, same as rideshare. So even after paying shuttle prices, you can still end up with a walk.
If your group is big, loud, and the party is the point, a shuttle or group ticketed party bus can be the right vibe. If you want speed, privacy, and a clean exit, it usually isn't.
What about the free Jefferson County shuttle?
